Molly Dyon, MACP
Welcome, thank you for being here and beginning this process. While emotional pain unfolds uniquely for every person, our inherent capacity for growth, resilience, and authentic connection remains constant. However, when life feels overwhelming and dark or when your relationship with yourself or your sense of resilience is challenged, having the right therapist to walk alongside you can be an essential part of the process, helping you slow down, heal, and remember that you are not alone.
I work collaboratively with a wide range of clients, taking a trauma-informed, culturally responsive and relational approach to psychotherapy that is rooted in safety, genuine connection, and empathy. I support adults, adolescents, children, and couples who are struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relational difficulties, attachment wounds, and identity. I also support clients living with grief, substance use, navigating trauma, and the unique experiences associated with neurodivergence.
Based on your unique goals, I will take an integrative approach to addressing what is most important to you in our sessions, which might include drawing from contemporary psychodynamic and other attachment-based modalities to explore how past experiences and relationships have shaped how you relate to your feelings, thoughts, behaviour, and your relationships with yourself and others. I might further draw on emotion-focused therapy (EFT) and other experiential modalities to increase emotional awareness, deepen an understanding of maladaptive processes, and foster emotional change by addressing unmet needs, reducing self-criticism, and facilitating emotional re-experiencing. In turn, I might employ Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), somatic, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) strategies to address cognitive and emotional distress.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and am currently completing my graduate studies in Counselling Psychology at City University in Canada. I am completing my practicum at CFIR under the supervision of Dr. Dino Zuccarini.
